The Summer continues to be Hot for coins. We just got back from ANA Pittsburgh after a 2-day stint walking the bourse floor. We met up with a bunch of dealers and were able to sell some coins we had for a while that had become stale inventory. The problem we had along with other buyers and dealers was – there were not many good deals at the show. We looked at numerous nice coins, but prices were way out of control. We sure don’t mind paying up for nice coins but double the CPG retail price is comical. I understand dealers have a lot of expenses and table fees, but common morgan dollars should not be high retail. We looked at several hundred coins and only came away with a few. It made us focus on the auctions that came after the show. The auctions were spread out over several days and it gave us time to focus on what we wanted and really needed. We were able to grab some nice CAC coins at fair prices. Looking back, we should’ve just stayed home and saved the travel and lodging costs.
